The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 9:00 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Pat O'Brien, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Robert Bertrand, Hec Clouthier, Gordon Earle, Peter Goldring, René Laurin, Pat O'Brien, John Richardson and Bob Wood.
Acting Members present: Roy Cullen for John O'Reilly and Elsie Wayne for David Price.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Corinne McDonald, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Royal Canadian Legion: Allan Parks, Chairman, Veterans' Service and Seniors Committee; Jim Rycroft, Director - Service Bureau. From the Merchant Navy Coalition for Equality: Aurele Ferlatte, President, Canadian Merchant Navy Veterans Association; Capt Hill Wilson; Osborne MacLean.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on Veterans Issues.
The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.
At 12:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
