TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 1998

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 2:05 o’clock p.m., this day, in the Auditorium, Lorne Building, 90 Elgin Street, the Vice-Chair, Bob Wood, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: David Pratt, David Price, Pierrette Venne and Bob Wood.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.

Witnesses: Maj David Chaplin; CPO Martin Gagnon; CPO Colette Sabourin; MCpl Patrick Bernath; MCpl Suzanne Charest; Mark Paine; Capt Gwen McEachern; Capt Renée Forcier; MS Norman Rockwell; Cpl Shannon Armitage; Maj Jacques Girard.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of a Review of the Social and Economic Challenges Facing Members of the Canadian Forces.

The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.

At 4:00 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
