MONDAY, MAY 4, 1998

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 1:35 o’clock p.m., this day, in the Base Theatre, Gagetown, New Brunswick, the Chair, Robert Bertrand, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Leon Benoit, Robert Bertrand, Hec Clouthier, Art Hanger, Judi Longfield, David Pratt, David Price and John Richardson.

Acting Members present: Ghislain Lebel for Pierrette Venne.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of a Review of the Social and Economic Challenges Facing Members of the Canadian Forces.

The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.

At 5:15 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
