TUESDAY, APRIL 21, 1998

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 3:35 o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Robert Bertrand, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Robert Bertrand, Hec Clouthier, Art Hanger, Judi Longfield, John O’Reilly, David Pratt, David Price, George Proud, John Richardson and Bob Wood.

Acting Members present: Ghislain Lebel for Pierrette Venne.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From National Defence: Lt.-Gen. Romeo Dallaire, Assistant Deputy Minister, Personnel.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of a Review of the Social and Economic Challenges Facing Members of the Canadian Forces -- Personnel Support Program.

The witness made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 5:30 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
