TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 1998

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 6:30 o’clock p.m., this day, in the Gymnasium, Alouette School, Bagotville, Quebec, the Chair, Robert Bertrand, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Leon Benoit, Robert Bertrand, Judi Longfield, David Pratt and Pierrette Venne.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.

Witnesses: Col. Benoît Marcotte; Adj. Chef Daniel Gilbert; Lt. Col. Jean-Luc Desgroseilliers; Capt. Louis Turcotte; Cpl. Christine Larivière; Marise Ouellet; Martine Simard; Charmaine Sammut; Danielle Gilbert; Eric Michel Daoust; Isola Bouchard; Jan Temple; Nancy Gonthier; Ghyslain Pépin; and Antoine Boudreault.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of a Review of the Social and Economic Challenges Facing Members of the Canadian Forces.

The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.

At 9:16 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
