The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 4:28 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, Hec Clouthier, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Robert Bertrand, Hec Clouthier, Gordon Earle, Peter Goldring, Ghislain Lebel, Judi Longfield, John Richardson, Bob Wood.
Acting Member present: Elsie Wayne for David Price.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner; Corinne McDonald, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the The Army, Navy & Airforce Veterans in Canada: Peter T. Ambroziak, Dominion Secretary-Treasurer. From the Department of Veterans Affairs Canada: David Nicholson, Deputy Minister; Richard Brunton, Director of Portfolio Legislation.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on Veterans Issues (Merchant Marine).
At 4:28 p.m., Peter Ambroziak made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 4:45 p.m., Pat O'Brien took the chair.
At 5:05 p.m., David Nicholson made an opening statement and, with Richard Brunton, answered questions.
At 6:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
