Tuesday, May 12, 1998
The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met in camera at 3:43 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Shaughnessy Cohen, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Shaughnessy Cohen, Paul DeVillers, Nick Discepola, Paul E. Forseth, Derek Lee, John Maloney et John McKay.
Acting Members present: Lou Sekora for Sheila Finestone, Lynn Myers for Andrew Telegdi, Allan Kerpan for Jack Ramsay.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst, Marilyn Pilon and Nancy Holmes, Research Officers.
It was moved, -- That the draft report on the development and the tabling of a Bill to amend the Criminal Code provisions regarding impaired driving, be concurred in as the Eight Report of the Committee.
The motion was agreed to.
It was agreed, -- That the Chair be authorized to present the report to the House
The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report on Bill C-104 (1995).
It was agreed, -- That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request the government to table a comprehensive response to the report.
It was agreed, -- That the draft report on Bill C-104, as amended, be concurred in as the Ninth Report of the Committee.
It was agreed, -- That the Chair be authorized to present the report to the House.
At 4:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
