Health Committee to hear from representatives of Western Provinces
Ottawa, March 11, 1999 - The Standing Committee on Health will hear testimony about approaches being taken in British Columbia and Alberta aimed at increasing organ donation.
British Columbia Minister of Health Penny Priddy will appear before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Health to speak to the approach taken by British Columbia to increase donor rates, including the B.C. donor registry. The names of other witnesses from British Columbia are listed below.
The province of Alberta will be represented by Prudence Taylor, Project Team Leader, Health Strategies Division of Alberta Health. Kimberley Young of the H.O.P.E. Program in Alberta will speak to the Green Ribbon Campaign in support of organ and tissue donation.
