The Standing Committee on Health met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Joseph Volpe, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Bernard Bigras, Reed Elley, Ovid Jackson, Dan McTeague, Maria Minna, Robert D. Nault, Maurice Vellacott, Judy Wasylycia-Leis.
Acting Member(s) present: Lynn Myers for Rose-Marie Ur and Francine Lalonde for Pauline Picard.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier and Sonya Norris, Research Officers.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of Chapter 17 (Patented Medicine Prices Review Board) of the September 1998 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.
Witness(es):From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Maria Barrados, Assistant Auditor General; Ronald Campbell, Director; From the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board: Dr. Robert Goldwin Elgie, Chairperson; Wayne D. Critchley, Executive Director.
Dr. Robert Elgie and Maria Barrados made statements and, with the other witnesses, anwered questions.
At 10:59 a.m. the sitting was suspended
At 11:05 a.m. the Committee resumed sitting in camera.
