WEDNESDAY, February 4, 1998
The Standing Committee on Health met at 3:20 o’clock p.m., this day, in room 701, La Promenade, the Chair, Beth Phinney, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Elinor Caplan, Aileen Carroll, Claude Drouin, Grant Hill, Lynn Myers, Beth Phinney, Pauline Picard, Joseph Volpe.
Acting Members present: Rob Anders for Maurice Vellacott.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Odette Madore, Nancy Miller-Chenier and Gérald Lafrenière, Research Officers.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of natural health products. (See Minutes of Proceedings dated Thursday, November 20, 1997.)
Witnesses: From HerbTech Inc.: Ken Broadfoot, President. From the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine: Dr. Mary X. Wu, Director; Dr. Jai Li, Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Tony Cheung, General Manager and Owner, Kwok Shing Enterprises.
Dr. Mary X. Wu and Ken Broadfoot made opening statements, and with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 4:45 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
