Meeting No. 74

Tuesday, May 4, 1999

The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:16 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: John Cummins, Claude Drouin, Wayne Easter, Charles Hubbard, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Gar Knutson, Bill Matthews, Carmen Provenzano, Lou Sekora, Paul Steckle.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Researcher Officer.

Witnesses: From the Canadian Fur Institute: Alison Beal, Executive Director; Brian Roberts, Chairman.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of Sealing Issues.

Alison Beal and Brian Roberts made opening statements and answered questions.

At 10:58 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
