Thursday, March 25, 1999
The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:14 a.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Yvan Bernier, John Cummins, Claude Drouin, Wayne Easter, Charles Hubbard, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Gary Lunn, Carmen Provenzano, Paul Steckle, Peter Stoffer.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to discuss its future business.
By unanimous consent it was agreed, - That the Committee televise their meetings on April 13, 14 and 15th 1999 regarding sealing issues.
By unanimous consent it was agreed, - That the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans be invited to appear the week of April 19, 1999 on the Department's Main Estimates 1999/2000.
By unanimous consent it was agreed, - That the Auditor General be invited on the Chapters of his Annual Report regarding fisheries issues.
By unanimous consent it was agreed, - That Carmen Provenzano be the Chair of the Sub-Committee regarding aquaculture.
At 9:52 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
