The Standing Committee on Finance met in televised session at 6:37 o’clock p.m., this day, in room 269, West Block, the Chair, Maurizio Bevilacqua, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Maurizio Bevilacqua, Roger Gallaway, David Iftody, Gary Pillitteri, Karen Redman, Paul Szabo, Paddy Torsney and Tony Valeri.
Acting Members present: Diane Ablonczy for Dick Harris; Jean Charest for Jim Jones; Paul Crête for Yvon Loubier; Alexa McDonough for Nelson Riis at 6:32 p.m.; Lorne Nystrom for Nelson Riis at 7:28 p.m..
Other Members present: Jim Jones and Nelson Riis.

The Committee commenced its examination of Bill C-2, An Act to establish the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and to amend the Canada Pension Plan and the Old Age Security Act and to make consequential amendments to others Acts.
The Minister of Finance and the Minister of Human Resources Development made statements and answered questions.
At 8:36 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
