The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 9:05 a.m., this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, John Harvard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Hélène Alarie, Rick Borotsik, Murray Calder, John Harvard, Jake Hoeppner, Larry McCormick, Dick Proctor, Rose-Marie Ur.
Acting Members present: Yvon Charbonneau for Denis Coderre. Roy Bailey for Garry Breitkreuz. Rick Casson for Howard Hilstrom.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Researcher.
Witnesses: From the Prairie Pasta Producers: David Schnell, Chair; John De Pape, Consultant, Sparks Com. Inc. From the Canadian Wheat Board: Adrian Measner, Executive Vice-President, Marketing; Jim Thompson, Senior Marketing Manager, Domestic and Export Wheat Products and U.S.A; W. Earl Geddes, Program Manager, Market Development, Sales & Market Development Division.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to the examination of New Generation of Co-ops.
David Schnell and John De Pape made opening statements and answered questions.
At 10:01 the meeting was suspended.
At 10:07 the meeting resumed.
Adrian Measner made an opening statement and, with other witnesses, answered questions.
At 11:01 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
