The mandate of the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs (the Committee) includes all areas covered by the Department of Indigenous Services and Department of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs. The Committee can study any aspect of the management and operation of the two departments, as well as legislation, programs or policy areas administered by them.

The Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs reviews, examines and reports on issues affecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples and northerners.
