Meeting No. 2
Tuesday, November 26, 2002
The Standing Committee on Transport met in camera at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Joe Comuzzi, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: John Cannis, Joe Comuzzi, Bev Desjarlais, Jim Gouk, André Harvey, Ovid Jackson, Stan Keyes, Mario Laframboise, James Moore, Marcel Proulx, Paul Szabo.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Principal Analyst.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its future business.
It was agreed, - That a working lunch be organized to meet with visitors from Australia to discuss the issues of Transport Security and that the incurred expenses be charged to the Committee’s budget.
On motion of Mr. Laframboise, it was agreed, - That notwithstanding the motion agreed to by the Committee on November 7, 2002, regarding the Meeting schedule, that, the order be rescinded and that the new schedule be the following (Pursuant to the room assignment system for Committee).

On motion of Mr. Keyes, it was agreed, - That the Committee do proceed with the following studies and in the order as follows: 1. Aviation Security Fees; 2. Security and Safety Issues on all mode of transportation; 3. Feasibility of having the private sector take over the operation of Via Rail.
At 11:56 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
